Hanging of the Greens:

The Church's Christmas Party

Sunday, December 3, 5:00 pm

Have you ever heard that cold hands mean a warm heart? I don’t know about you but when my hands or feet are cold I am uncomfortable long before all of me is cold. It is not a good feeling.

At last year’s Hanging of the Greens we collected over 250 pair of socks that were distributed to local missions. This year the Congregational Life Committee is hoping to keep more hands and feet warm by creating a mitten and sock tree in Trinity Hall as part of the Hanging of the Greens. We invite you to help us fill the tree with new gloves, mittens, and socks for men, women, and children.

Congregational Life will also partner with Spiritual Growth and the Worship & Music Committees to make this year’s Hanging of the Greens an intergenerational experience. Plan to begin the Advent season on Sunday, December 3, at 5 pm in Trinity Hall.

Congregational Life will provide beverages and desserts and ask you to bring your favorite appetizer to share, place settings for everyone in your group and, of course, a new pair or two of gloves, mittens or socks. Following our meal we will carry the greens and decorations into the Sanctuary as the bagpipers lead us into worship.

Please let us know you are coming by signing up on the Friendship Pad, at the Welcome Desk, or on the Congregational Life bulletin board in the west corridor. Contact Connie Smith with questions at
