Renewal
Led by Rev. Tom MacMillan and Rev. Susanne Bendoraitis

Have you ever wondered what it would take to make the church a more welcoming, intentional, and participatory community? Growing Young is a research project that focuses on six different factors that foster church health and provide an intentional welcoming place for young people where their faith can grow and thrive. This past fall, a church-wide survey revealed areas where our church is strong, and areas where we have the opportunity to grow.  We will be looking at how we can grow to be a more empathetic community inviting others into leadership and prioritizing young people. Come Join Pastors Tom and Susanne and be a part of this important conversation!

Theology Class: Looking at Luther
Facilitated by Rev. Jessie MacMillan

Martin Luther started a reformation movement that revolutionized Europe in the sixteenth century. His far-reaching reforms of theological understanding and church practices radically modified both church and society in Europe and beyond. Yet Luther has been criticized as well for his anti-semitism, by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and others. Join us for a four-week exploration of Luther's thought and life, in conversation with other theologians, including you!

Renegade Gospel
Facilitated by Jeff Nichols

Renegade Gospel – Mike Slaughter: This DVD dives deep into the methods through which Jesus brought the Kingdom of God to His people while on earth, how His presence remains with us today and what we are to do in response. Short DVD lessons precede an in depth group discussion.

Peacemaking Class
Led by Rev. Oommen Thomas

What does it mean to be a Peacemaker in our day? Using Marcus Borg’s The Heart of Christianity, we will discuss how to make peace in our own hearts by re-discovering who we are as Christians, resulting in an outward expression of peacemaking. Purchasing the book is not required, but is recommended. Cost of the book is $10, and will be ordered as a batch for all who sign up in advance and indicate they would like to purchase a copy. You can also obtain it for yourself on Amazon.com.

Mind-Body Connection
Led by Jennifer Smith

Come without judgement for mind-body awareness classes. These classes will combine stretching, gentle yoga, prayer, and mindful movements. No experience needed and, better yet, no money needed – it is free! Let’s gather together to become informed about our mind-body connection through movement and prayer. Send a text or call Jennifer Smith at 440-522-5076 if you are interested. This class normally meets at 6:00 pm each week, but the time is changed to 6:30 during Lenten nights.
