On Tuesday, September 12th at 7:00 pm, Jim Traxler will be giving a presentation in room 108-109 to the Stephen Ministers on Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Jim is a newly certified Community Educator for the Alzheimer’s Association and brings his own experience caring for his late wife Karen, along with his training at the Alzheimer’s Association, to his new mission of educating the public on this health crisis and how to deal with it. Almost everyone will have contact at some point with dementia, whether personally or with a family member or friend.

There will be a follow-up presentation on October 24 on Effective Communication Strategies,  giving tips on communicating with a person with dementia in the early, middle, and late stages of the disease.
